Janelle Monáe’s Stylist to Launch Curated Collection with Goodwill (Including Plus Sizes!)

Shopping at Goodwill is about to become the IT thing to do.

With most of us ballin’ on a budget, you’d be surprised to know that most of your favorite influencers and models shop at thrift stores. You can find the most wonderful gems at places like Goodwill, Salvation Army and consignment stores.

So we weren’t surprised when we heard that Janelle Monáe’s stylist plans to take shopping at Goodwill to another level.

Ali Mandelkorn has curated a new clothing collection for Goodwill SoCal that will not only offer both high-end designer pieces and street wear but will be sold online, so you don’t have to be on the West Coast to shop.

The collection, “GOOD x Goodwill SoCal“, is made possible via a partnership with e-commerce company Thrilling, which helps secondhand stores put their selections on the internet.

Thrilling CEO Shilla Kim-Parker also shared with LAist that the collection includes many pieces in plus sizes at a fraction of the retail cost. YES!

The selections are mostly pulled from Goodwill SoCal’s inventory but there are also some celeb clothing goodies from fashionistas like “Scary Spice” Mel B, Loni Love from The Real and Sara Haines from Good Morning America.

LAist states:

“Examples of the high-end items that may be available include Prada cargo pants, Bulgari sunglasses, and Chanel flats, while streetwear selections may include pieces like hoodies and Converse high-tops.”

The Goodwill collection launches this Friday (March 15th) and runs through May 1, with a precentage of proceeds going towards a Goodwill job training program for people with disabilities and other disadvantages.
