Plus Model Who Bared All for Navabi Shares Her Story With PLUS Model Magazine
This brunette bombshell did not just make waves, she created a tsunami when she strut her stuff throughout the streets of Berlin naked for navabi, and now PLUS Model Magazine is honored to have her lovely face grace the cover of our February 2013 Issue. Mariesther Venegas is a stunning force to be reckoned with and we reckon you will be as anxious as we were to get to know her better. Colleen: You hit the plus size modeling industry in 2010 during a model search for Forever 21+. Did you always want to be a plus size model?
Mariesther: Yes, I have always dreamed and imagined myself strutting down a runway and being on the cover of Vogue.
Colleen: Do you consider yourself a role model for plus size women? If so, does that affect the way you model or which clients you work with?
Mariesther: I do, I feel that it is really important to carry and present yourself well and be proud of who you are. By embracing my body and curves, I feel that in a sense I am helping women all over feel and be comfortable in their own skin. Confidence is not only key but sexy!
Colleen: You turned a lot of heads during Berlin Fashion Week strutting nude in the streets for navabi’s “Finally” campaign. Were you nervous about the project? How did you feel about the video once it was complete?
Mariesther: I was excited and nervous! I had never been to Berlin, let alone walked their streets naked, but I took the experience by the reins and just went with it! Once we were done shooting, I was super anxious to see the results, and when it released I was just in love! I felt accomplished and proud of myself for stepping out and just going with it.
Colleen: Has your career changed since the navabi project? If so, how?

Denise Bidot and Swimsuits For All have jointly unveiled the SwimStar All Stars nationwide search, dedicated to discovering emerging talent in the realm of swimsuit modeling. Encouraging aspiring models to share their personal narratives, the initiative aims to inspire women of all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes. Following a rigorous selection process, Brittany Wilborn, Camryn Henry, and Sharon Clawson emerged as the chosen winners. In January 2024, these models embarked on a transformative journey to Harbour Island, where they had the unparalleled opportunity to shoot alongside Denise under the expert direction of internationally acclaimed photographer and director, Ben Watts.
Reflecting on the initiative, Denise Bidot remarked, “This was a truly exceptional opportunity to celebrate the diversity of plus-size models and cultivate an atmosphere of support, empowerment, and knowledge sharing.
