PMM Wish List: 10 Bloggers Size 22+ We’d Love to See in Fashion Campaigns

10 blogger 22 up main image

Here at PLUS Model Magazine, the topic of size diversity is one that we are very passionate about. We strive to continue to keep this important conversation going, as we have been for the last few years.

Since Eloquii unveiled their latest size 26/28 lookbook featuring size-28 customer Emmicia Bracey, we can’t stop thinking about how this should be the norm, when it comes to featuring non-professional models in fashion campaigns.

Size diversity isn’t about showing a size 8, a size 14 and a size 18. Let’s include women above a size 18 and an array of different body shapes, heights and silhouettes.

Catherines recently launched a huge denim campaign, featuring bloggers of different shapes, sizes and heights. Quite a few of them were over a size 22, such as myself, Reah Norman, Kellie Brown, Jessica Kane and Amanda Alison.

Retailers and brands! This is a call to action to you. It’s more than just looking at a blogger’s numbers or size when choosing one to feature as a brand ambassador or face for your next campaign. It’s thoughtfully choosing a blogger with style and confidence that your customers can identify with.

Not every plus size woman has an hourglass shape, over 5’9″ tall or a flat tummy.

With that said, here’s our wish list of 10 bloggers who are all over a size 22, have different body shapes and heights and have tons of style and confidence… All worthy of being front and center in a major fashion campaign.

[tps_title]#1: Rebecca of The Plus Size of Me[/tps_title]

We have such a girl crush on Rebecca. Her smile is contagious and her style is one that many women can relate to. She effortlessly takes casual pieces and creates stylish looks that work for the every day woman. And she’s not afraid to flaunt her curves with major confidence. We love her so!

[tps_title]#2: Jeniese of The Jenesaisquoi[/tps_title]

We love how Jeniese takes risks and has fun with her style while keeping it age-appropriate. She wears her feminine chic style with an edge, focusing on key accessories that really makes her looks stand out. She knows what looks good on her body so she is a prime example of how you can elevate your style simply by letting fit and color stories help you build a fabulous look.

Jeniese was recently featured on the August 2015 cover of Redbook as one of their Real Women Style Award winners for 2015.

[tps_title]#3: Farrah Estrella of the Estrella Fashion Report[/tps_title]

Farrah is not just a plus size fashion blogger. She reports on all things fashion on her blog. If you want to know the latest trends in fashion, what was seen on the runways worldwide or even what’s hot at the moment, her blog is the place to get all of that and more. She was most recently a brand ambassador for Catherines and has worked with prominent fashion brands such as Lane Bryant, HSN and Cushie B. but we’ve never seen her grace a fashion campaign or lookbook and be front and center. Tsk, tsk.

We love her colorful style and statement accessories. She really does a great job of showing that style knows no size.

[tps_title]#4: Corissa of Fat Girl Flow[/tps_title]

Corissa is unapologetically plus size and proud and we LOVE it! She is what I call a “fashion activist”. She is beautiful, confident and not afraid to dare to be different. She wears crop tops, mini skirts, shows off her belly, etc… she’s inspiring and refreshing to see among the sea of bloggers we have out there now. She’s authentic, stands out in the crowd and the girl has style for days! And please note that the middle image above is of her wearing Melissa McCarthy’s new Seven7 jeans so you can actually see them on someone who is larger than a size 16. This is why we need to see more bloggers of varying shapes and sizes out there.

[tps_title]#5: Becca of A Fat Fox[/tps_title]

Becca’s style is whimsical, girly and fun. We love how she takes her casual looks and makes them unique. Who else can make a plaid button-down shirt look fun and effortless? She’s flawless from head to toe from her hair and makeup to the looks she creates. And she inspires simply by being herself. She’s not afraid to try new styles and we think she would be perfect for indie brands looking to feature someone larger than a size 20 who’s simply fabulous. We could also see her on Modcloth’s website or in a Torrid lookbook.

[tps_title]#6: Cynthia of Flight of a Fat Girl[/tps_title]

Cynthia is a part of this amazing plus size blogger movement happening in Canada with all these fierce fashionistas showing off their style and confidence. And we love seeing plus size women all over the world, loving themselves and inspiring women everywhere with fashion and empowering words. Cynthia is definitely a standout with her impeccable style with an edge and how she is not afraid to be a voice in the body acceptance world, using her platform to also speak out against trolls and size discrimination. She’s currently a brand ambassador for plus size fashion brands Addition Elle and Penningtons. We’d love to see her get some more exposure in the US.

[tps_title]#7: Emmie of Authentically Emmie[/tps_title]

There’s so much we can say about Emmie because she is a lifestyle blogger who not only blogs about fashion but also blogs about travel, fitness and her journey on learning to love herself no matter where she is during that journey. She is simply wonderful and we think many women can identify with her not just physically but on a personal level as well. We’d love to see her in a J. Jill campaign, Lands’ End, or Target lookbook. Or see her on the plus clothing landing page of Old Navy! Yes!

[tps_title]#8: Meagan of This is Meagan Kerr[/tps_title]

Based in New Zealand, Meagan is a blogger who loves fashion and promotes self love via her blog with posts asking questions like “Can plus size women wear body con dresses?” and showing off her style where she pairs floral dresses with gold sneakers as well as not being afraid to wear pieces that are certainly not quiet. She is a plus size woman who refuses to remain hidden and in the background. And believe me, she is seen and heard with her fun fashion choices and infectious smile.

[tps_title]#9: Naomi of Diamonds n’ Pearls[/tps_title]

Across the pond in the UK is Naomi, who is so cute and stylish… she is a genius at mixing prints and creating such stylish looks. Her confidence is so radiant that you can feel it on your computer screen. That may sound a bit corny but you go ahead and read her blog… you will see it for yourself. Her accessory game is on POINT and we would love to see her in an Evans campaign or working with US brands such as Macy’s, Fashion to Figure and Avenue.

[tps_title]#10: Sarah of Style It[/tps_title]

Sarah always looks like she is having a great time living life (which we love) and her fashion reflects that. As someone who was 6″ feet tall in the 7th grade and was always the biggest girl in the room, her blog is a testament to how you should never let your size limit you from doing what you want in life or wearing what you want. She is so genuine and authentic in expressing how she navigates through life as a plus size woman. Sarah is truly a champion for plus size women above a size 22. She was the first face of Eloquii’s size-26/28 lookbooks and we’d love to see her featured in more fashion campaigns.
