UPDATED: 10 Tall Boots That Fit Wide Calves Above 18 Inches
It’s officially boot season! For many of us, finding a pair of tall boots that fits our wide calves can be a challenge.
While in the past, most wide calf tall boots only fit calves up to 18″, now there are options that fit calves larger than that. Yes!
Here’s a few tips to keep in mind when shopping for wide calf tall boots:
- Have your tape measure ready! – Measure your calf at its widest point while sitting. Make sure to measure both calves, in case they are not the same in width. If there is the difference is more than a half inch, go up an inch to ensure proper (and comfortable!) fit.
- Don’t put away that tape measure just yet! – Make sure to measure from your heel to desired height. This will help when especially shopping online for tall boots. You want to make sure the boot is hitting you at a length you want and not too high or low.
- Don’t be afraid to try them on! – If you’re shopping in-store, make sure to try on different styles because you never know. Calf widths tend to get larger with shoe size so the larger your shoe size is, the wider the boot is. Make sure to stand after getting them on and zip them up as you’re standing. Standing will help you zip them up more easily.
- Know your return policies! – When shopping online, always check the return policy as that can get costly. Some companies do offer free returns but not all.

#1: Joe Brown’s Buckle Boots in EE and EEE Super Curvy Plus from Simply Be, $99.95
These boots are available in shoe widths E and EEE in Super Wide Calf. The wider the foot, the larger the calf. The calf widths for this boot by size are the following:
- Size 6E and 6EEE: 18.4″ and 18.9″
- Size 7E and 7EEE: 18.7″ and 19.2″
- Size 8E and 8EEE: 19.1″ and 19.5″
- Size 9E and 9EEE: 19.4″ and 19.8″
- Size 10E and 10EEE: 19.7″ and 20.2″
- Size 11E and 11EEE: 20″ and 20.5″
#2: Extra Wide Calf Riding Boot with Ankle Buckle from Ashley Stewart
Ashley Stewart offers extra wide calf boots and they’re a great retailer to check out if you’re on a budget. This one is currently on sale for $47.70!
According to their website, the size 11W has a 1″ heel, fits a 23″ calf and has a 14″ shaft. So the calf will be smaller on sizes under 11, but not under 18″.
#3: Over The Knee Lace Up Boot from Eloquii, $159.90
Looking for a sexy boot with a major heel? This boot from Eloquii is it! It has a 4″ heel, 20.25″ shaft and 19.5″ calf circumference. The website does not list the calf widths per size but Eloquii’s customer service is always great with answering questions so don’t be hesitant to give them a call.
#4: Extra Wide Calf Slouch Riding Boot from Lane Bryant, $79.95
This boot has a nice low block heel with a stretch goring on the back and fits a wide calf of 19″ (size 8W) and will increase with size.
#5: Heavenly Soles Boots from Simply Be, $89.99
These boots are available in shoe widths E and EEE and in calf widths Curvy and Extra Curvy Plus. The wider the foot, the larger the calf. The calf widths for this boot by size are the following:
- Size 6E and 6EEE in Curvy: 17.1″ and 17.6″ / Extra Curvy Plus: 21.1″ and 21.6″

These boots are definitely on-trend for fall and we love them! They’re available in sizes 6.5 to 13W.

This rain boot from Jileon fits up to a 21″ calf and are made from durable rubber to ensure they are definitely waterproof. According to the customer reviews, the size 8 fits a 19.5″ calf with extra room to spare. Another customer said her calves were 21″ and the boots fit her calves with room to spare.
