Torrid To Make Its Runway Debut at NYFW This Fall
NYFW is about to get even more size-inclusive this Fall.
Plus size fashion brand Torrid has announced that they will be on the runway at NYFW: The Shows this September.

On the heels of Addition Elle announcing it will have a runway show during NYFW to unveil plus size model Jordyn Woods’ new collection with the brand, now we get another plus size fashion treat with this news!

According to the press release, the runway event, which will take place on Tuesday, September 12, joins a roster of over 70 shows taking place during the Spring/Summer 2018 collections, and heralds a bold new move towards increased diversity and inclusiveness in the fashion industry.
The Torrid runway show will also serve as a showcase for the brand’s third annual Model Search competition, serving as the semi-final competitive round for the top 10 finalists.
The panel of judges include designer and Project Runway winner Ashley Nell Tipton, celebrity makeup artist Priscilla Ono, and supermodel Candice Huffine. The finalists will get to walk the runway before going on to a third and final round of competition, where the winner is chosen by Torrid friends and fans.

On the runway, Torrid plans to unveil a preview of its Spring 2018 collection, featuring 40 looks representing key trends for the upcoming season: edgy rock n’ roll, romantic boho, and elevated details including hand embroidery and painted elements.
NYX Professional Makeup, a leader in the global color cosmetics industry, will finish off each look with their line of on-trend products as the official makeup sponsor.

Following a rigorous selection process, Brittany Wilborn, Camryn Henry, and Sharon Clawson emerged as the chosen winners. In January 2024, these models embarked on a transformative journey to Harbour Island, where they had the unparalleled opportunity to shoot alongside Denise under the expert direction of internationally acclaimed photographer and director, Ben Watts.
