During our two weeks of scouring over hundreds of entries, we also received submissions that were incomplete, or emails with questions. In order to satisfy your questions, we decided to make a list of tips, just for you.
1) Clear photos are important. Never send a cell phone picture, picture with your family, friends or pets.
2) A head shot is a picture where your face is clearly seen. It does not have to be touched up, just has to be clear and with natural makeup.
3) A body shot, you should not be wearing a prom dress or a loose fitting dress or top. A nice fitting, or belted dress or tunic with a skirt or dress is ideal. Also denim jeans and a tank is also a great choice.
4) Read the instructions of the model search carefully and submit exactly what is asked and nothing more or less.
5) Most times, incomplete submissions are not accepted.
*We are looking for non signed talent. If you are signed with an agency and have an exclusive contract, you are not eligible. If you work freelance you are free to submit.
The City Chic/PLUS Model Magazine model search is looking for the next aspiring model that will catapult into the plus size industry with an editorial in PLUS Model Magazine, walk in Full Figured Fashion Week – NYC and model for the number one Australian plus size brand, City Chic. The winner will be flown to NY for her photo shoot and will be given a one year contract with Natural Models Management.
We are looking for plus size models size 12 and larger who are at least 5’7 in height.
Contest date is January 1, 2011 through January 31, 2011
How to enter:
1) You must be at least 18 years old to enter and at least 5’7 in height.
2) No purchase necessary to enter.
2) Email one headshot and one full body shot (head to toe) to pmmcitychicmodelsearch@gmail.com along with your height, dress size and contact information. Pictures must be clear. The picture should show you with natural makeup and simple attire, so we could see your shape. (for example jeans and tank top or fitted top)
3) The 2nd and 3rd prize winners will receive a gift certificate from City Chic.
4) The 15 finalist will be announced on the PLUS Model Magazine blog on February 3, 2011, at which time the public will be able to vote for their favorite model.
5) The public will vote from February 3, 2011 through February 15, 2011 for their favorite model.
A panel of judges will look over the entries along with the results of the public voting, and will announce the winner in the March 2011 issue of PLUS Model Magazine.
*Expenses include airfare and hotel within the United States only. Meals and local transportation are not included.

What about Petite pluz size models…do we not get a chance to enter?
Hello ladies,
At this time, the model search has a specific height requirement because of the clients the agency does business with.
Our 18+ model search, last year was open to women of all heights and sizes 18 and over.
We are working on a petite model search, but do not have any details at this time.

I submitted photos and upon reading the details, I realized that maybe my photos weren’t okay because my tunic was loose. I feel that my photos showed what was needed to see, my face clearly, my body clearly – but how to know if I should I resubmit?
OMG I think I am actually going to take the plunge and take pics soon so that I can make the deadline. It is all I keep thinking about now, LOL!
