SpaSeekers.com, a UK spa bookings site, has recently launched a “plus size spa” category to its website in an effort to help visitors find UK spas that are plus size friendly.
Visitors can find spas that provide larger sized robes, bigger towels, wider treatment couches and a policy of making sure each guest is made to feel comfortable in the spa environment. They can also find spas that offer spacious individual changing rooms, larger shower cubicles and wider dining chairs without arm rests.
SpaSeekers’ founder, Jason Goldberg, said:
“This is very much showcasing spas, which are size friendly where everyone can feel comfortable. The size of spa robes has long been a hot topic of conversation with our customers, many complaining that they are too small to provide adequate cover. We recognize that it’s not always easy for people to ask our advisors such questions and wanted to make the whole booking experience as simple and stress free as possible.”
SpaSeekers.com already has 80 spas signed up to feature in the category, including Q Hotels, Dolphin Square in London and London Heathrow Sofitel.
Let’s hope this will set the trend for other countries, including the US, to offer spa directories and booking websites that have plus size categories. What a wonderful concept!
