Whether it’s the latest fashion news, body acceptance topics or beauty stories, we want to give you, the readers, what you want to see in the magazine and on the blog. Part of that is expanding our team to include individuals who love what they do and are experts in their field.
With that said, we’re happy to welcome Natasha Nurse to the PMM family as our new Lifestyle Editor!
Natasha will be contributing to the blog with lifestyle-related stories, including interviews with individuals that will inspire and motivate our readers – everyone has a story to tell and we’d like to share those amazing stories with YOU.
“Only you have the power to determine how you want to be seen by the world.” – Natasha Nurse, Lifestyle Editor of PMM
Here’s some of Natasha’s story, that she shares very candidly:
“Growing up, I was bullied for everything under the sun. I sought approval from my peers who ultimately rejected me because of my weight, height and skin color. The only thing I found solace in was fashion because I was always proud of the outfits I put together and felt beautiful wearing them; through fashion, I eventually learned to stop letting others negatively shape my self-perception.”
She is the co-owner and creator of Dressing Room 8, an online platform that is on a mission to empower women to feel more confident and love themselves through fashion. She states:
“As a result of my experiences, I started Dressing Room 8 to provide a web-based resource where curvy and plus size women can discover, explore, and experiment with fashion as a means for their personal development and empowerment.”
Natasha had this to say regarding her new position at PMM:
“As the new Lifestyle Editor at Plus Model Magazine, I am excited to present uplifting stories from real women who have overcome obstacles to live happy and fulfilling lives. The world is now a much smaller place and I hope to make it even smaller for the plus sized community through the sharing of these stories and human experiences.”
PMM Editor-in-Chief Madeline Jones expressed her excitement about our new expanded Lifestyle section:
“I’m so excited about expanding the PLUS Model Magazine brand with a new Lifestyle section. Often our readers have inspirational stories they want to share and now we have a platform in which to feature these narratives. Real stories of courage, strength and empowerment are powerful and we want to continue to inspire our readers on the inside and outside.”
Please join us in welcoming Natasha to PMM and stay tuned to the blog for Natasha’s first interview going live tomorrow.
