What have been your favorite modeling experiences so far?
I love traveling and I have had some opportunities to do that! I got to travel to Mexico City for a job and that was such a cool experience, really cool city. Meeting new people is also a huge plus. Working with talented artists makes you feel like you are part of something special.
What is your personal fashion aesthetic?
As I’ve gotten a little bit older I’ve started to appreciate quality pieces; a nice pair of boots, a fabulous fitting turtleneck or a beautifully knitted sweater. I like to look effortless… it may not actually be effortless but that’s the goal, ha-ha.
If you were not modeling, what field would you be working in?
I love interacting with people; I love helping them. At times I find it easier to help people with things than helping myself, ha-ha. I think I would be pursuing artist management, or maybe even model development. I like helping people with the experience I have gained.
What do you like to do on your off time?
I recently got into gardening! I have never been so excited to see a tiny little blossom of a plant. It brings me so much joy! I also love to cook and read… and music of course. My boyfriend is a music producer and sometimes he will ask me to sit with him and give my opinion, I really enjoy that.
Has there been someone in your life that has influenced you, in fashion or otherwise?
I’m lucky to have such inspirational people around me. Everyone is on their own journey and being a part of that with them helps push me along. I love my family, my friends, and my boyfriend; they truly make me a better person. They are always pushing me to take steps towards the things that I want and for that I am so grateful.
What is your advice to aspiring models?
Don’t take anything personal. It took me a long time to fully understand that. I’ve had a hard time with some previous agents telling me I’m too big or I need to lose weight. I’ve learned that they are just looking at me from a business perspective, whereas I was taking it as a judgement; that’s not how this business works. Be true to yourself. Surround yourself with people that want the best for you.
