Summer is here and the temperatures are HOT! and plus size bikinis are even HOTTER!

If you are new to wearing plus size bikinis you are in luck we have tips for you before clicking “add to cart”.

1) Know your measurements so you can buy with confidence. Some brands offer tops in bra sizes and some don’t so knowing your measurements is key.

2) You can buy the top separately from the bottom! This is the best thing ever because those that wear a different size on top than on the bottom, have the option to order in different sizes.

3) Look for the return policy before purchasing just in case you need to change the size or return the entire purchase.

4) If you wear a larger size on top, try to find a bikini top that offers adjustable straps and either a nice strong back strap or underwire to keep you feeling supported while you wear it.

5) Quality over quantity… buy from a reputable brand that knows how to create swimwear for your curves. When a brand “fits” on a plus size fit model the fit is much better than brands that size up. Fast fashion brands are creating items based on size blocks and are most likely not using fit models.

When Tiina found herself looking for clothing that fit her petite and curvy frame and came up empty, she decided to do something about it.

After doing her research and arming herself with passion, she embarked on a new mission which she calls Curvy Fox. Today we are celebrating her swimsuit debut collection and campaign called ‘Thinness Does Not Equal Beauty.’

Can you tell us a little about how Curvy Fox came to fruition?

Curvy Fox was born out of me not finding anything on the market to fit my personal style as a young professional. Styles were either outdated or the fit was totally off. So I started to the process of learning how I could manufacture my own styles. I used real women such as friends and family to test out the fit and from there the first collection was launched. Our focus at Curvy Fox is providing stylish options with an exceptional fit.

Plus size swimwear is a thriving business. Can you tell us about plus size swim trends for 2019?

Long sleeve swimwear is becoming very popular. You’ll see in our new collection we will be bringing back our long sleeve swimwear top and a new version of this top, which features a functional zipper. We also have a long sleeve one-piece suit that will debut this spring. Cutouts are a trend returning this season. You will see several new pieces, which will feature this trend as well this spring.

You just launched ‘Thinness Does Not Equal Beauty’ campaign. Can you tell us about the campaign and why it’s so important to you?

This campaign is important because often I see women comment, “I wish I could wear something like that.” My question is always, why? Why can’t you wear something at a size 20 but feel you could wear it if you were a 12? This campaign is about defying the rules we have allowed society to place on our worth and remind women that acceptance starts within. My mission is to empower women through fashion to reclaim their confidence and wear it boldly.

Being an entrepreneur is not easy. There are many sacrifices we make to follow our passion. What is your advice to budding entrepreneurs?

I once heard someone say, “Don’t let it stress you, let it stretch you.” My advice to entrepreneurs would be that. Once you find your lane, stay the course. Don’t try to take on too many ventures at one time because to truly develop your business it requires 100% from you. Stay focused and keep pushing!
