Did you always know you wanted to be a photographer?
I decided to leave my job as an HR Analyst in 2012 after photographing a pregnant friend (former model) and her photos received a lot of attention on her social media networks.
How would you describe your style of photography to someone who has never seen it?
I am a fashion photographer. Throughout my career, I have sought to specialize in fashion, drawing the best of the beauty regardless of size.
I notice you shoot a lot of plus-size models in Brazil. How has the plus size industry evolved in Brazil?
Brazil is constantly evolving in the plus size fashion market. Although it’s still not mainstream, we are hopeful to see all sizes represented in fashion.
One of the things I love most about your photography is how creative you are with your subjects. What’s your advice to budding photographers trying to find their signature look?
I think when we start, we look for references from other photographers and art directors. And with me, I believe that it was not different since I always studied other professionals. I also assisted some professionals and eventually developed my own style.
For me, a photograph has to have FEELING and capture the heart.
Study, study and study, but do not think of the photography aspect only. I even studied fashion production. I watch a lot of movies and started a new challenge to study cinema; every day, besides photography, I’m specializing in fashion films.
Can you tell us a bit about our cover model Manuh Rubi?
Manuh was born in São Gonçalo. She graduated in Fashion Designer by Plinio Leite, graduated in Fashion Production at PUC-Rio and began modeling in 2013 after completing her Model and Mannequin course at School Models. She has already participated in the FWPS and recently did a work for the Peruvian, Mario Testino.
In December of 2017 she began to make Fashion Trips to places such as: Cartagena of India, Argentina, Chile, Jericoacoara, Atacama.
