Laura Lee is a powerful Latina with an incredible work ethic and a passion for the plus-size community.
Whether she is working as a fit model or in front of the camera, she has one thing in mind and that is US, the plus-size consumer. Laura Lee is the model that thinks about the people who wear the garments and how it’s being marketed. Maybe that’s why so many people adore her, she really does love her job and realizes her impact.
To me, you are a friend who inspires and lifts me up. To the world, you are Laura Lee: talented, passionate, confident, and SEXXYYYY. How would you describe yourself?
Loud, a goofball, a down to earth plant mom that loves life, a person who wakes up hyper and ready for the daily hustle.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I’m an open book on my Instagram and share it all so this one is a hard one. I’m going to say that maybe people don’t know that before modeling I was a graphic designer. I used to create 1800 page catalogs for an office products company and then I started working for a wine company and I created magazine ads, promotional material, you name it, I made it. I loved it but this was my dream and had to take the leap so I didn’t turn 90 and say I coulda-shoulda-woulda.

During the pandemic, many of us took the time to look inside of ourselves and do a deep dive into what we are putting out into the universe. What did your self-isolation look like?
In the beginning, I’m not going to lie, it was a whole lot of worrying and stress. The fact that I couldn’t get to my family because I was in the heart of it all and afraid if I had it I’d pass it to my parents, I started riding a very emotional rollercoaster. I leaned on my friends heavily and thanked the Lord for Facetime.
A few weeks in, after I finished Netflix, I gave myself a reality check and started working on me, emotionally, mentally, and physically. I put a squash to lazy days, started working out at home, taking some online courses, and began mentoring new models & helping them create media kits for their brands. I also started brainstorming ideas for new projects for myself. I’m used to the Go-Go-Go, not the sit around and chill, I’ve never been that person. So I took my experiences, my knowledge of the industry and started planning my next moves for my empire. So, are you ready to see what’s to come?

This year our September, Fashion Issue is a lot different. I mean you’re wearing lingerie! And many of us are wearing loungewear and lingerie a lot more during these uncertain times. But looking into the future… and with your vast experience as a ‘fit model’ tell me about your personal fashion aesthetic.
First I’d like to say “FASHION IS NOT DEAD,” it’s coming back and better than ever… Every day I FIT for many companies and the new trends, styles, fabrics and prints that are coming are insanely gorgeous. So be ready!!! During COVID I lived in PJ’s or in gym clothes, it was glorious!!! But those days are over… My go to’s are jumpsuits, maxi dresses, cute mini’s with kicks, anything that shows off my curves and is super comfy.
Lastly, I have to ask because people ALWAYS want to know… are you single? And if so, what do you look for in a love interest?
Yes, I am Single! And until I am WOW’d, I will be single. I need a confident man; a confident woman needs a confident man by her side. A man who is driven, has goals he is determined to achieve, funny as all hell, loves to see the world and experience different cultures, respectful, and I repeat FUNNY!!!
