Plus Model Lauren Punter Wins Models1 Curve Supermodel Competition
In May, ASOS and Models1 Curve launched a UK plus model search on Instagram, looking for the next MODELS1CURVE superstar. The winner of that plus model search was announced this week and it’s 20-year old Lauren Punter.

Models1 Curve said in a statement, why they chose to conduct a model search via Instagram:
“The prospect of walking into a model agency can be daunting and Models 1 wanted to open their doors to a wider audience by utilizing the power of social media and assuaging those initial nerves. We believe that beauty comes in different sizes.”
The plus model search was open solely to UK residents who were between the ages of 17 – 28 years old and a size UK 18 and above (which translates to a US size 14). Reportedly, 2,000 aspiring plus models submitted selfies in the span of 10 days and Lauren was the one that stood out from the rest.
Lauren spoke to Vogue UK about her win:
“I am still in shock. I entered the competition on the final day and I have never done anything like this or entered a competition like this before. I feel so proud and grateful to be representing plus-size models and women alike. Growing up it wasn’t cool to be curvy, and the brands around at that time weren’t cool either, but now thankfully times are changing.”
Lauren has won a contract with Models1 Curve, an ASOS photo shoot modeling pieces from their Curve line and £500 ($840 USD) in vouchers to spend at ASOS.
