Evans Aims To Show Diversity of Plus Size Women Via Their #IamMe Campaign
There are no rules. There are no limits. #IamMe
“Stay true to yourself. Be the best you can be. Don’t back down. Allow yourself to be inspired, then get out there and do it for yourself. There are no rules, there are no limits. Rock that red lip. Wear that dress. Be beautiful, be powerful, don’t apologize. Go for your dreams – and look damn good while you do it.”
British plus size fashion retailer Evans caught major flack with its #StyleHasNoSize campaign last fall from plus size women citing not enough size diversity within the campaign, urging the retailer to make a better effort when promoting body acceptance messages.
It seems the retailer was listening, with the launch of its latest body diversity campaign titled #IamMe. The new campaign features eight curvy women from all different walks of life, expressing how they identify with the #Iam… message. From #IamConfident to #IamInspiring, these women set out to push the message that we are all worthy and beautiful no matter what our size. It’s about individuality and how fashion has reinforced that for them. It’s not just about the clothes but how fashion makes them feel as an individual.
Evans is not just stopping there. They are inviting women on social media to join in the #IamMe campaign by posting an image on Instagram that shows who YOU are. You must use the hashtags #IamMe and #IamEvans to be entered into a weekly giveaway for a £150 Evans gift card. Giveaway ends at 11:59pm (BST) on May 17, 2016. Contest rules can be found here.
