What have been your favorite modeling experiences so far?

To start, I have had many modeling experiences throughout my career that were favorites. One of my most favorite modeling experiences, unquestionably, would be being honored as Full Figured Model Of The Year. To be considered in this industry in such high regard, amongst my colleagues, peers, family and friends was such a remarkable experience. Another one of my most favorite modeling experiences was being on the cover of ESSENCE Magazine. Not to mention the travel outside of the country and across the US and just being able to work with wonderful clients and have a comradery with other great models, is an awesome experience in itself.

What is your personal fashion aesthetic?

My personal aesthetic is a combination of trendy and now fashion, mixed with vintage. I love form fitting clothes mostly earth tone colors. My eyes are hazel, so I also like to wear colors that compliment them.

If you were not modeling, what field would you be in?

If I wasn’t modeling, the field that I would be in is nursing. As a child, it was always apart of my career choices along with being a flight attendant. When I was younger, my Mom was a nurse’s assistant and I would go to work with her and loved the idea of helping people.

What do you like to do on your off time?

On my off time from modeling, I’m a full time mom. I spend a lot of my time dropping off kids, picking up kids, and going to cheerleading practices and competitions. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. Rarely do I take the time out for myself but when I do, it’s to travel.

Has there been someone in your life that has influenced you in fashion or otherwise?

The person that has influenced me is my Mother; she was a major influence on my career and in my life. As a child, my mom was really into fashion but it was her own. She was current on the trends but did it her way. She always taught me to be the best me I could be.

What is your advice to aspiring models?

My advice to aspiring models would be to always be true to yourself. I would tell them to never give up and don’t take no for an answer. Those that are aspiring to be a model should also know not to take it for granted. Believing in yourself and having confidence is key. Keep God first and keep striving.
