Why You Need To Attend The DreamWalk Fashion Show

DreamWalk is changing the fashion industry standards for the runway.

Think extravagant. Bold. Beautiful. AND inclusive.

This inspiring costume-themed fashion show is inclusive of all genders, sizes, ages, ethnicities, sexualities, and abilities.

We can see why it’s called DreamWalk.

Talk about creating a runway that blows Victoria Secret’s shows away.

DreamWalk is a unique runway show that doesn’t have actual designers presenting. Most models design their own runway look and the premise is simply to celebrate all bodies by having a space for these models to strut down the runway.

According to the official website:

“We’re on a mission to prove there’s no one-size-fits-all image of beauty. It’s time runway stages and social media platforms start celebrating the unique qualities that make bodies of all shapes, sizes and colors beautiful.

DreamWalk is the first ever ‘body inclusive’ fashion show of its kind. The focus isn’t on designers, but rather the inspiring individuals as they confidently strut their stuff on stage – and shatter beauty stereotypes in the process.”

DreamWalk founders and sisters Lexi and Alyse Scaffidi were aspiring models whose dreams were crushed when they learned that they did not fit the physical requirements.

This devastating news may have ended their dreams of being commercial models but what it did was inspire them to create DreamWalk as a way to reach others who have been told they are not good enough, letting them know that on the DreamWalk runway, everyone is good enough.

What’s interesting is that the sisters are considered “straight-size”!

Having allies in this industry and community is so important and we commend these sisters for being allies not only to plus size women but all people.

This year’s DreamWalk is taking place in New York City and you need to be there! PMM will be in the building so we hope to see you there.

In addition to the runway show, there will be performances from Zach Matari, Kicking Sunrise, Switch Mob and Dramos.
