Did You Know… Five Major Plus Size Brands That Offer Above A Size 24

The fashion industry is indeed changing when it comes to size inclusion.

We’re not fully there yet but getting there, one season at a time.

With news of Eloquii expanding to a size 32 in Fall 2018 and fashion designers such as Nicole Miller and Catherine Malandrino now offering up to a size 5X via Gwynnie Bee, this just means more fashion for plus size women, especially those over a size 24.

As a size 26/28 woman myself, I have often felt like the forgotten woman when it comes to fashion since I am often outsized within the plus size fashion market too!

There are so many great brands I wish would expand beyond a size 24 but the consensus in the industry is that the larger sizes don’t sell so many companies don’t want to take a chance.

Therefore, if you’re above a size 24, please be sure to support brands and businesses like Eloquii, that are willing to expand their sizing to accommodate us.

We also have to do our research because there are some companies that don’t promote their size expansions or the fact that they even offer plus sizes! (Hey, Michael Kors!)

It’s hard to believe that these companies would be quiet on their plus size offerings as the plus size apparel industry is a billion dollar business. According to the NPD group, the industry totaled $218.7 billion in sales at the end of 2016 and it continues to grow.

Here’s 5 brands that offer above a size 24 that you may not know about since they have yet to truly promote their extended sizing (with the exception of LOFT that just launched). If we don’t know about it, how are we supposed to support them and spend our money?

#1: J.Jill

Just look past the non-plus size models being used on their website, because J.JIll offers sizes 16W to 28W!

The W means “Woman” which means the fit is NOT junior plus, and that’s always a great thing when you’re above a size 24. If you’re looking for basics, careerwear and key closet staples, this is a great brand to shop. They currently have 512 items in up to size 28W and prices range from $9.99 to $269 (for cashmere, yes!). They also have sales and promos regularly, which is kind to your wallet. [SHOP]

#2: LOFT

LOFT Plus (as in THE Ann Taylor LOFT) launched a week ago and we already see that a few items have sold out! They offer sizes 16 to 26 and are going for a more bold and confident vibe when it comes to closet staples. This is another brand worthy of checking out for chic workwear pieces, dinner date looks and casual styles like jeans and elevated basics. [SHOP]

#3: Ashley Stewart

Ashley Stewart expanded their sizes to 32 in Spring 2016 but what many don’t know is that they now offer up to a size 36 in select styles.

We don’t know why this is not common knowledge but we hope they promote this more as it’s rare to find a brand that offers trendy and current styles in sizes 32 to 36. This is major! All of the styles above are available in up to size 36. [SHOP]

#4: Charlotte Russe

Charlotte Russe is known more as a junior plus retailer so imagine our surprise when we saw that they offer sizes 4X and 26 in select styles, 75 to be exact. They’re super affordable with prices ranging from $9.99 to $36.99 – this is definitely what is known as a fast fashion retailer so if you’re looking something trendy and sexy, CR is definitely worth checking out.

FYI, the hoodie shown above is on sale for $18 and available in up to a 4X. [SHOP]

#5: Lands End

Lands’ End has been around for a long time but many don’t know that they now offer up to sizes 5X and 32W!

Lands’ End offers everyday style in pieces that last a long time. They are known for their nautical styles, swim and quality outerwear. If you’re an active plus size woman, this is a great place to shop for activewear and warm styles for winter activities. They carry UPF swim styles and we’re loving their current take on the classic button-down shirt. [SHOP]

Other notable smaller brands that are new and upcoming, who offer above a size 24 are Curvy Sense, Curve Girl (who offers up to a size 46!) and Shein.
