Actress Sofía Vergara is now taking a step further into retail.

She’s now venturing into denim, with her new brand Sofía Jeans by Sofía Vergara, available NOW exclusively on Walmart.com.

While this is AMAZING, we do want to be specific on this. Many media outlets are calling this a size-inclusive collection but in fact, it is not. The line offers jeans in sizes 0 to 20 and tops in sizes XS to XXXL. Even Walmart calls it “the new denim line that celebrates every shape and style“.

Vergara told Yahoo! Lifestyle:

“I am very excited about this collection because it caters to women of all sizes. We tried to include every shape, every size.

That’s why we went all the way up to size 20 — to make sure that everybody could find something really, really affordable and sexy and cute.”

Yes, it’s great that the line offers both straight sizes and plus sizes, and we’re big fans of the actress, who sat down with PMM Editor-in-Chief Maddy Jones last May for an exclusive interview here.

However, plus sizes do not stop at a size 20.

With the average American woman now wearing a size 16/18, offering up to a size 20 is just skimming the surface in offering clothing to every woman.

Vergara does offer up to a size 4X on her underwear subscription line so we have hopes that if her denim line does well, the size range will be expanded.

What’s not to love about cute clothing that’s affordable? I know plenty of plus size women who would throw their money Vergara’s way if their size was offered, me included.

Vergara’s goal with this line was to create an affordable and fashion-forward collection that is accessible to everyday women. The collection, which contains over 100 items, has a price range of $14.50 to $38.50 so kudos to her for achieving her goal.

Vergara said in the official press release:

“I live in my jeans. From going to the store or to a business meeting or to a night out partying, jeans are a must-have item for women. I wanted to design a line of great-looking jeans, perfect for daytime casual or dressed up for night, and fun tops, that are comfortable and affordable. I am thrilled to partner with Walmart.com to create a collection for women of all shapes and sizes. Everyone’s body is different. Everybody is beautiful and should be celebrated.”

We’re loving the graphic tees, which at $14.50 is a steal. They all have powerful sayings, some in Spanish. 

The jeans are named after the actress and her family members and we’re loving the different silhouettes and washes, including prints, skirts, joggers and white jeans. With the denim priced between $22.50 – $29.50, we would not be surprised if this line sold out quickly.
